Neighbours

‘Neighbours’ is a book by illustrator and artist Femme ter Haar, about living with strangers, based on a short text that she wrote about her experience moving into a new apartment in Bergen. 
The book was handmade and riso-printed by the artist, in an edition of 80 copies.


‘My new neighbours have moved in.
They have gigantic feet that keep me up at night
I wonder what they look like?
While they thunder up and down the stairs
I become a silent witness to their nightly affairs
The quickest of footsteps, the strangest of sounds
I am so quiet and they are so loud!
Then, silence arrives without a warning
and I am left alone in my apartment.’
